Zero Oil Mushroom Pulao recipe for Quick weight loss

Mushrooms are delicious and there are hundreds of mushroom recipes already.

Today I will show you my 100% Zero Oil mushroom pulao recipe for weight loss and healthy heart.

This recipe was actually discovered by my mom when she cooked mushroom pulao with oil. I requested my mom and asked if there is a way we can make mushroom pulao without any oil in it.

Initially there was a lot of thought in it, but since we are used to making lots of zero oil food, my mom decided to give it a try and below is how we managed to cook oil free mushroom pulao.

Let’s take a quick look at the ingredients needed to make this tasty and healthy recipe.

Ingredients needed to make Oil free mushroom Pulao

  • Rice 250 grams
  • 1 Bay Leave
  • Mushroom 150 grams
  • 2 Chopped onions
  • Ginger Garlic paste one and a Spoon
  • 2 Chopped Green onions
  • Half cup chopped coriander leaves
  • Half teaspoon of blackpepper
  • Salt as per the taste
  • Garam Masala
  • 1/4th teaspoon of red chili powder
  • Chopped veggies (Only add if need it, this is not compulsory)

How to make Oil free Mushroom Pulao without oil?

Once you have the above ingredients ready you can start making your healthy mushroom pulao in 4 easy to follow steps.

Step 1: Pre heat the nonstick pan

Step 2: Put the chopped onions followed by bay leave and start sautéing it.
Sauté it for a while for 2-3 minutes.
Add ginger garlic paste and keep sautéing it as there is no oil in it.
Once the onions turn mild brown add red chili powder keep sautéing it until the onions are nice and brown and you should have your core Masala’s ready.

Step 3: Add mushroom to the pan and mix it well.
Cook the mushrooms (mixed veggies) with masalas and make sure it mixes well.
You can cook the mushroom for 3-4 minutes, but remember continuous sauting is needed since we don’t want the masala’s to be burnt.
In the process of sauting whenever you feel masala’s are sticking to the pan or burning simply keep adding 1-2 teaspoon water.
Adding water would not allow the masala’s to burn.

Step 4: Once the Masala’s are ready mix the rice with it.
Add twice the amount of water.
Mix it with black pepper and salt as per taste

Step 5: Let the rice cook as you normally cook the rice
Once the water content is gone, stir it and see if the rice is evenly cooked.

Now serve the Zero oil mushroom pulao by sprinkling chopped coriander leaves on it

This dish goes well will Zero Oil Chana masala as well as Zero Oil Paneer matar.
