Sugar consumption has increased many folds in today’s date, especially due to fast foods and packaged food items that are easily available.

Now, you must not feel comfortable with this recommendation. This is the recommended dosage for average healthy person.

And if you are overweight and not feeling energetic, you are certainly not healthy.

I have mentioned the above dosage only to give you the permissible limit of sugar intake that American heart association allows.

How to detox yourself from sugar in 7 days?

I will give a sample diet plan template that you can use anytime you want to detox yourself.

Day 1



Breakfast: 2 – 3 Scrambled eggs along with berries and almonds

Mid-Morning Snacks: A handful of Nuts

Lunch: Roasted chicken along with Beets and green salad

Dinner: Roasted Mushrooms and plain soup

Breakfast: Fruit Plate followed by a handful of Almond and seeds.

Mid-Morning Snacks: A cup of green tea

Day 7

Breakfast: A bowl full of fruit plate (fruits of your choice)

Mid-Morning: A handful of nuts and seeds

Lunch: Whole wheat bread sandwich with green stuffing’s followed by 1 cup lotus stem soup.

Dinner: Grilled fish and green salad

Follow the above template for 7 days and you will soon start seeing visible results in as less as 3 days.

Now, if you notice none of the food items above are either high in carbs or high in sugar content. The above diet plan focuses on using the body’s fat as the source of energy, thereby resulting in weight loss. At the same time it restricts the sugar intake for 7 consecutive days, which gives your liver best possible opportunity to expel the toxins and restore the regular function.

Having said that, above is just the template for 7 days, if you truly want to lose weight plan your diet for 30 days.

I bet giving up just the sugar can help you to lose up to 2 kgs (based on personal experience).

Note: When you start this diet, make sure you start your day with a glass of Ash Gourd or Bottle gourd juice for best results

Tips to make your sugar detox diet a success:

  • When on sugar detox diet, you will start getting cravings from second or third day. Therefore it becomes extremely important to see through this phase. It’s difficult because you are not even allowed to go for any alternatives.
  • Cook your food with good quality oil (Olive Oil or Mustard Oil).
  • Do not eat any unnecessary carbs in form of white bread or rice as it will ruin the whole process.
  • Increase your water intake.
  • Try to stay away from sugar cane juice and juices that elevates the insulin levels.
  • Include Apple Cider Vinegar in between your meals to enhance the digestion.
  • Go for at least 30 minutes’ walk to mobilize the unused fat.
