I am sitting at the breakfast table wondering if it’s possible to replace the regular eggs with any other keto breakfast item. I have already tried Keto Idli in the past and was thinking of trying Keto Dosa this time.
Having boiled eggs for breakfast daily can be boring. And over a period of time you will stop enjoying it since no one likes to have that same thing again and again.
Therefore we end up missing the essence of that typical Indian breakfast which simply pleases the taste buds. I managed to do a quick research and found 5 unique ways to make a tasty Keto Dosa. What this means is we will be using 5 different keto Dosa recipes.
The simplest and quickest way to make Keto Dosa is to replace the regular rice flour with Almond flour and then mix it with Coconut milk, pinch of cinnamon powder and Mozzarella Cheese. Once the batter is ready you can simply put it on flat pan and cook it like a regular dosa.
Dosa’s are extremely nutritious and fulfilling to, which means it keeps the unwanted hunger pranks away.
Now since the regular version of Dosa is prepared using the rice batter it’s eminently high in Carbohydrates too. Hence regular dosa cannot be a part of keto diet, having said that by making simple tweaks to the ingredients you can make the Keto Version of Tasty dosa.
Let us take a quick look in details on how to prepare the Keto Dosa in 5 different ways.
1.) Almond Flour Keto Dosa
This is one of my favorite recipe as its super easy to prepare. To make keto Dosa using Almond flour you would need below ingredients.
- 3 Tablespoon Almond Flour
- 2 Tablespoon Mozzarella Cheese (Grated)
- Flax seed flour around 10 grams
- 1 Tablespoon Coconut milk
- Less than half a teaspoon Salt
- Pinch of Cumin Powder and asafoetida
- Coconut Oil around one Tablespoon (To make the dosa)
How to make almond flour keto dosa?
Once you have the above ingredients ready you can make your almond flour keto Dosa in 3 easy steps.
Step 1: Mix all the above ingredients except coconut Oil in a bowl and make sure you make nice and even batter.
Step 2: Heat the tava or Flat Pan, then add some coconut oil to it.
Step 3: Now pour the batter in the tava, spread it in the tava like a regular dosa.
Cook it until the dosa is golden brown.
Your keto friendly dosa is ready.
How to make Almond flour?
On side note if you are not sure on how to make almond flour, just follow the below steps.
Step 1: Boil the water until it’s super-hot
Step 2: Put a handful of almonds in the heated water for 1 or two minutes.
Step 3: Peel the skin
Step 4: Let it dry for a day or put it in the Owen in low temperature to dry it.
Step 5: Put it in the mixer/grinder and grind it super fine.
Your Almond flour is ready.

2.) Keto Egg Dosa
As the name suggests the key ingredient in this recipe is the egg. Yes you have heard it right you can use eggs to make keto version of dosa. Here is how to do it.
First thing first you would need the below ingredients.
- One egg
- 3 tablespoon Almond flour
- Less than half teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon Ghee
That’s all you would need to make your dosa.
How to make Keto Egg Dosa?
Now that you know the ingredients let’s take a quick look on how to make keto egg dosa in 5 simple steps.
Step 1: Mix the Almond flour with egg and put it in the mixer grinder
Step 2: Blend it fine to have that nice and even batter
Step 3: Adjust the water if the batter is super thick.
Step 4: Put the batter in the tava or flat pan and spread it like a normal dosa.
Step 5: Cook it until it’s nice and brown.
Your keto Dosa is ready to be consumed for your breakfast or evening Snack.
3.) Keto Nut Dosa
Ok this is extremely nutty and delicious, to make this dosa you would need below ingredients
- 50 grams Pistachio’s peeled
- 2 Tablespoon Almond flour
- 50 grams walnuts
- 2 tablespoon Mozzarella Cheese (Grated)
- Less than half a teaspoon salt
- Pinch of cumin seeds
- Pinch of cinnamon powder
- Pinch of hing or asafetida
- 2 Tablespoon coconut milk
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
How to make Keto nut Dosa?
If you have the above ingredients available in your kitchen you can make your keto nutty Dosa in 5 easy steps.
Step 1: Mix the Almond flour with all the above ingredients excluding coconut oil.
Step 2: Put it in a mixer/grinder and grind it extremely fine
Step 3: Adjust water if the batter is super thick
Step 4: Heat the tava or flat pan, sprinkle some coconut oil and put the batter in tava
Step 5: Spread the batter in circular motion and cook it like a regular dosa until its golden brown.
You nutritious ketogenic Dosa is ready.
4.) Flax Seed Keto Dosa
Flax seeds are loaded with healthy fats and has tons of Omega 3 fatty acids in it. For vegans it can be an excellent source to get the required essential fatty acids and ignite the ketosis process.
The good thing about this dosa is that the carb content is extremely limited.
To make this keto dosa you would need below ingredients.
- 1 Tablespoon Flax Seed powder (Finely grinded)
- 3 Tablespoon Almond powder
- Pinch of cumin powder
- 2 Tablespoon grated Mozzarella cheese
- 100 ml Almond milk
- 1 Egg
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil for spraying on tava
- 1 Teaspoon Cow ghee
How to make flax seed keto dosa?
Once you have managed to get the above ingredients ready, start making your dosa by following these 5 simple steps.
Step 1: Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl except the coconut oil.
Make sure you have nice and even batter.
Step 2: Heat the Tava or Flat Pan and spray some coconut oil on it.
Step 3: Pour the batter on Tava and spread it in circular motion to make it round.
Step 4: Add some cow ghee while the dosa is being cooked.
Step 5: Cook it until its mild brown.
You ketogenic Dosa is ready.
5.) Coconut Flour Keto Dosa
It’s hard to ignore coconut flour when we talk about keto diet.
Until now we have seen different ways to make keto dosa using almond flour.

Let’s take a quick look at the Ingredients needed to make your coconut flour keto dosa.
- 2 Tablespoon coconut flour
- Egg whites from two eggs (Vegetarians can use Mozzarella cheese and Almond milk two tablespoon each instead of eggs)
- Less than half a teaspoon sea salt
- Pinch of cumin powder
- Pinch of pepper powder
- Pinch of hing or asafetida
How to make Coconut Flour Keto Dosa?
Follow the below steps to make your coconut flour keto dosa in 4 easy steps.
Step 1: Mix all the above ingredients in a bowl.
Step 2: Make sure you have nice and even batter, adjust with water if the batter is too thick.
Step 3: Put the batter in a flat pan or Tava and spread it in circulat motion to make dosa like shape.
Step 4: Cook it until its golden brown.
Your Coconut flour Dosa is ready.
Now that you know multiple ways to make ketogenic dosa lets take a quick look on how to make a chutney that compliments Dosa.
How to make Chutney that compliments Keto Dosa?
Without chutney you will not get the typical dosa like feeling. Addition of chutney is like icing on the cake.
Having Dosa with coconut chutney is the ultimate combination that will simply please your taste buds.
To make ketogenic chutney you would need below ingredients.
- Fresh coconut
- 2 Green chillies
- Roasted Chana or Dahliya
- Half a cup of coriander leaves
- One teaspoon ginger paste
- One teaspoon cumin powder
- Half a teaspoon sea salt
- Little water
- Organic coconut oil 2 teaspoon
- One teaspoon mustard seeds
- Half a teaspoon cumin seeds
- One dried red chilli
- 3 – 4 curry leaves
- Pinch of turmeric powder
Once the above ingredients are ready, make the keto friendly chutney in 3 easy steps.
Step 1: Put Coconut, green chilies, ginger paste or whole ginger, sea salt, Dahliya, coriander leaves and little water in a mixer grinder.
Step 2: Grind it fine until you get thick and even chutney.
Step 3: Now make your tadka
- Heat the pan
- Add 2 teaspoon coconut oil in the pan
- Add the mustard seeds, Cumin seeds, Dried red chillies and curry leaves.
- Put a Pinch of turmeric powder and fry it for a while.
- Once the tadka turns brownish, mix the chutney with the tadka
Your keto friendly chutney is ready.
Have your keto dosa along with this chutney for breakfast or as an evening snack.
