Biryani is considered as a special occasion dish in India. This dish is very popular in Hyderabad and is a very rich food.
I decided to make paneer biryani little healthy by removing oil and ghee. Removing oil and ghee from biryani can not only delay the plaque formation but also keep you healthy and energetic for long time. This recipe is naturally low on cholesterol and triglycerides. So let's have a quick look at the ingredients needed to make Paneer biryani without oil.
Oil free Paneer biryani Ingredients
1.) Paste : 2 Onions, 1/2 inch Ginger and few Garlic cloves
2.) Chopped onions
4.) Red Chili Powder
5.) Paneer 150 gm.
6.) Biryani Masala
7.) Bay Leaves
10.) Boiled Potatoes
11.) Boiled rice
12.) Kesar water or Jafrani color
Steps to make Paneer biryani without oil...
Step 1: Make Paste
Make onions, ginger and garlic paste
Step 2: Roast it!
Pre- heat the pan.
Start by adding Bay leaves, cloves and cardamom.
Saute it until its mild brown.
Add chopped onions.
Mix it well.
Make sure the onions turn golden brown.
Add some water if it sticks to the pan.
Step 3: Add the paste!
Add onion, ginger and garlic paste.
Put some red chili powder.
Add some salt to taste.
Mix it well.
Put some water.
Put the lid and let it cook for 10 mins.
Step 4: Making the gravy tasty
After 10 mins open the lid and add Curd.
Stir it well.
Add some biryani masala.
Start adding Paneer.
Cover the lid and let it cook for 5 mins.
Remove the lid and stir it well.
Step 5 : Gravy meets Rice!
Take an empty vessel and put boiled rice and gravy in layers.
Put little boiled rice and then add little gravy.
Repeat the above steps until the vessel is full.
Serve your 100% zero oil paneer biryani with raitha or salads
